<text>This paper seeks to continue the path opened by a previous study on the didactics of our respective disciplines at the Polimodal level, in which we proposed reading a play about the philosopher Baruch Spinoza and analyzing different aspects of it from the perspectives of Philosophy and Literature. On this occasion, we aim to show how a philosophical text, Socrates’ Apology, can be approached from both disciplinary fields.
Although many teachers use non-traditional resources—literary texts, cartoons, films, newspaper articles—in the teaching of Philosophy, it is generally difficult to find bibliography that systematically describes how such an experience could be carried out.
In addition to the philosophical issues that can be identified in the Apology—such as the concept of philosophy, philosophical method, educational conception, and ethical values—from the perspective of Literature this text also makes it possible to approach teaching within a current theoretical framework: discourse theory.
By making visible the links established between the different discursive practices of a society, both artistic and non-artistic, as well as the divergences between reality and discourse, students will have the possibility of reflecting on the fallacy of certain disciplinary prejudices that have hindered their access to literary and philosophical texts. In this way, they will broaden their reading of the world as a great cultural text.</text>

<text>The process of Educational Transformation promoted by national authorities involves not only changes in structures, management modalities, study contents, and teaching methodologies, but also changes in values, norms, and the position and role of teachers. This implies that, both explicitly and implicitly, models of identification are being proposed that tend to shape, within teachers’ subjectivity, a particular image of themselves and of their own task.
On the other hand, the specific social context, while defining the horizon of satisfaction or frustration of teachers’ needs, also generates certain factors of identification.
This paper explores the possible emergence of identity conflicts derived from eventual contradictions between the models of identification promoted by the Educational Reform and the real needs of teachers in Jujuy. It examines what position and role are assigned to teachers, and what norms and values related to teaching identity are proposed. In this way, it seeks to detect the psychological effects produced in Jujuy teachers by the impact of hegemonic models on the construction of their professional identity.
The methodology employed is based on a dialectical and historical conception, which seeks to establish some of the causes of the problem under study. The exploration of bibliographical data is articulated with the knowledge obtained through the representations expressed by teachers in relation to the Educational Transformation.</text>

<text>This paper addresses one of the dimensions of analysis proposed in a research study on the centrality assumed by the contents and/or teaching methodology of the natural sciences in teaching practice.
The study aims to identify the conceptualizations and valuations that teachers assign to contents and methods, to detect the socioeducational and cultural factors that intervene in them, and to characterize the positions teachers adopt in their praxis.
In this qualitative inquiry, the case study approach was chosen in order to allow a systematic, detailed, in-depth, and intensive examination of the phenomenon. The setting is a school where the presence of the natural environment is significant. Information was obtained through classroom observations, interviews, and document analysis.
This paper presents the analysis of curricular documents, focused on the Natural Sciences area and particularly on the case of Chemistry, within the general context of the curricular conception of the Educational Transformation. The analysis highlights the conceptions underlying the contents and the methodological guidelines proposed as “innovative”. As in any curriculum, these guidelines seek to orient the nature of the relationships that teachers establish with the knowledge to be taught and with the way of teaching it.</text>

<text>This article draws on the results of anthropological research which, through the analysis of cases of families of peasant origin living in northern Córdoba, seeks to explain and understand their educational strategies as part of the mechanisms of everyday and social reproduction. We identified a set of educational strategies, both formal and non-formal, common to the families studied, as well as some differential practices.
The research reconstructs family practices and representations concerning education, but also seeks to explain what the links are, and how they are produced, between the structuring of these family choices and decisions and broader social processes. The transformations of the rural social space of Tulumba, the process of depeasantization, and the progressive urbanization of the town become a fundamental analytical framework for understanding the way in which education is, or is not, included within the mechanisms of everyday survival and in the strategies that families construct in order to maintain or improve their social position within the system of class relations.</text>

<text>Today, the university faces a profound transformation of its environment and new challenges. These changes are related to the accelerated creation of knowledge, the globalization of higher education, and intensified competition among institutions. This situation requires additional resources to promote the pedagogical redesign of contents and the certification of degree programs in order to ensure institutional continuity.
The development of Information and Communication Technologies modifies the traditional teaching paradigm and requires an institutional redefinition aimed at sustaining a new type of knowledge assimilation centered on student learning.
The above brings to the foreground the need for efficient management of material and human resources, and with it the theories of university organization and management. Agency theory and its “principal-agent” model respond to these expectations of modifying university management by giving a professional character to the role of actors in the different institutional levels of administration.</text>

In this paper, we propose to reflect on the meaning that school acquires in the life trajectory of an adolescent girl in a context of urban poverty. The purpose is to make visible certain traits that intersect in the construction of subjectivity.
The study was approached from an ethnographic perspective, and interviews were conducted that made it possible to reconstruct the biographical itinerary of the adolescent’s school trajectory.</text>

<text>This paper reports on the results obtained from documentary research carried out in 2000 for a postgraduate seminar in the Master’s Program in Social Policies at the National University of Salta, Argentina.
The study addresses the problem of the university student movement within the general context of social movements, especially the so-called traditional movements, and its forms of struggle against higher education policies defined by the State. Two historical moments of this movement in Argentina are considered: the beginning of the twentieth century, represented by the students who promoted the University Reform of 1918, and the end of the twentieth century and beginning of a new millennium, represented by the Argentine University Federation (F.U.A.).
The paper also seeks to identify the particular positioning of this sector in relation to situations of educational integration or exclusion promoted by educational policies at this level of the system.</text>

<text>This article further explores some of the concerns developed in my undergraduate thesis. I review the traces that would allow us to perceive how, in the national case, a science of sexuality was constituted as part of a broader process not so much of restriction as of increasing incitement, in which “the techniques exercised over sex have not obeyed a principle of rigorous selection, but rather one of dissemination and implantation of polymorphous sexualities” (Foucault, 1995: 20).
If we assume that the formation and control of sexuality has been the way in which modern society has shaped bodies and behaviors, fixed the position of certain individuals at the margins of the concept of normality, and traced the parameters for the operability of contemporary culture, then it becomes possible to inquire into this “implantation” of modern relations from the position and practices of those individuals defined as bearers of an abnormal sexuality: the so-called “inverts” of the early twentieth century, within the spectrum encoded by the Argentine sexual sciences, and, specifically, those who dressed in the clothing of the opposite gender, those today named travestis.
It is at the margins, by attending to the experience of situated subjects constituted at the borders of normality, that the effect of modern operations and mechanisms of individuation is exposed as constructed.</text>

<text>This article seeks to open a debate on the limits and possibilities of state policies related to sexualities, especially women’s sexualities. Based on theoretical and empirical studies, its aim is to reflect on the conceptions of sexuality as equivalent to procreation and heterosexuality that are inscribed in public policies related to reproductive health implemented in Mendoza, Argentina, since 1988.
This debate is necessary because the policies analyzed, some of them positive, reaffirm the equivalences woman=mother and sexuality=heterosexuality, rooted in both the State and society. In this way, sexuality is subsumed under procreation and under processes of health and disease. At the same time, sexual behaviors and orientations that deviate from motherhood and heterosexuality are silenced when they are not condemned.
The State controls sexualities through laws and health services that regulate reproductive capacities, prohibit abortion, and promote the prevention of HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted diseases. These policies have a greater impact on women from subaltern sectors. Here lies their ambiguity: while they broaden access for some women, they exclude and render invisible sexual practices and orientations that do not conform to accepted norms.</text>

<text>Constitutional review is situated within the broader political and legal problem of reconciling the predominance of the majority with unconditional respect for the fundamental rights protected by the supreme legal instrument: the Constitution. In our country, it is exercised by the judiciary, whose members thus become the interpreters and guarantors of the Constitution.
This paper points out some problems related to constitutional review that generally do not appear in discussions of the subject. These are problems that are not recognized, either socially or legally, as violations of rights and freedoms, and that particularly affect women as a collective in their condition as women.
The disregard for women’s autonomy by a large part of the judiciary, especially in the area of sexuality and reproduction, is expressed in norms and judicial decisions grounded in the traditional model of femininity, maternal and dependent, which hinders the possibility of recognizing women as subjects with decision-making capacity.
It is possible to show that, although a law may have no relation to sex, it can be applied in a discriminatory manner or fail to protect certain rights. Law, in theory and in practice, does not operate with the same categories when referring to men and women. These differences are framed within the social constructions that have historically defined what it means to be a woman and what it means to be a man, to the detriment of women as a collective, and have long dismissed their capacity to be full citizens.</text>

<text>The purpose of this paper is to analyze the labor situation of women workers from popular sectors, with emphasis on the textile industry, within a context of occupational crisis during the 1970s. It seeks to understand how, as a result of various family, emotional, and social factors, women in Tucumán entered the labor market and, in many cases, became the main support and only source of income for their family groups. This constitutes the starting point of the research, which aims to provide an approach to the study of women’s labor situations.
Our argument is based on the claim that the transformation of the labor market promoted the incorporation of female labor into the industrial sector. This new role as household providers, in some cases the only one, implied a transformation in women’s subjectivity that, for some of them, was not accepted as such. The study also examines women’s intra- and extra-domestic strategies, which characterize the double workday.
It should be clarified that this analysis was approached from the perspectives of gender and oral history. Women experience a double workday, a concept that some authors understand as involving both extra-domestic and intra-domestic labor. Starting from these concepts, the paper examines the various strategies developed by women workers in the textile industry. These women, in one way or another, sought different strategies to combine extra- and intra-domestic work, always pursuing the well-being of their families and, especially in the case of married women, of their children.
Oral sources, consisting of semi-structured interviews, as well as statistical data and bibliographical material relevant to the subject, were used in carrying out this study.</text>

<text>In this paper, I seek to show the limitations encountered in the implementation of a job-training program during the 1990s: Proyecto Joven, funded by the IDB, which promoted women’s participation, designed in Buenos Aires with a gender perspective, and implemented in Jujuy.
This analysis serves as an example for summarizing how, within the framework of growing processes of exclusion imposed by a globalized economy that conditions the autonomous capacities of peripheral states, social policies marked by the logic of the international organizations that finance them end up strengthening clientelist relations at the level of local implementation. At the same time, however, they allow for the introduction of progressive variants, such as the gender perspective, through the female and male “experts” required by that logic. The paper also shows how, at times, the links among “feminists in the cracks” reproduce the center-periphery scheme.
Finally, I propose rethinking not only the practices present in this scenario, but also the underlying or explicit conceptualizations, in light of the fruitful path opened by feminist critique around central categories such as gender and work, as a small contribution to possible future paths.</text>

<text>This paper focuses on the wide range of “public” activities deployed by oppressed people in order to confront the multiple forms of oppression that shape our lives. Critical Theory understands these contestatory actions as claims for social justice. Within this broader debate, I will examine two conceptualizations developed by Nancy Fraser in her theorization of questions of justice in contemporary democracies.
One of these conceptualizations is “participatory parity” and the other is the “counterpublic sphere”. The latter is presented as central for accounting for the groups that take part in the discursive interaction required by the language that this feminist philosopher calls precisely “participatory parity”. I propose a close reading of what is understood by the “public” and by “publicity”, since this is fundamental for a critical perspective on the concept of parity, described as “an idiom of public deliberation and contestation about matters of justice” (Fraser, 2001: 35).
It is necessary to rethink some of the arguments Fraser uses to support her understanding of the mechanisms that help us move toward societies guided by equity, both in material terms and in terms of cultural recognition. Therefore, I will problematize alternative versions of the “public” and some aspects of “counterpublicity”. Drawing on the contributions of María Lugones and Joshua Price, I will point to alternative directions for studying, accounting for, and moving within communicative spheres that could offer political enrichments for the diverse modes of confrontation embodied in transnational and local democratic struggles.</text>

To this end, it briefly historicizes the constitution, during the 1980s, of other significant spaces of social and political organization from a gender perspective. It then focuses the analysis on two experiences of struggle against oppression, which emerged as a result of the neoliberal offensive and the repressive policies of the State implemented since the 1990s and brought to a point of crisis in the events of late 2001.
These experiences are: a) the struggle of the women workers of the Brukman textile company to preserve their jobs and confront the violence of eviction; and b) the collective processes of dignifying living conditions carried out by women in situations of prostitution grouped in the Argentine Women’s Association for Human Rights.</text>
