<text>Health practices are not isolated or spontaneous events, they have a development closely related to the economic, political, social and cultural reality of a social group. The importance of analyzing health research productions published in the Journal Cuadernos FHyCS-UNJu is considered in this article. This task involves considering aspects of the past and the present of the health disciplines as a particular field of knowledge. The Health Area was incorporated into the UNJU organigram in 1994, in response to the creation of the Health Education Program, which has promoted the contribution of professors trained in different disciplines, in articulation with students of the career. This constituted a starting point for the increase in publications in this area. In this way, a corpus of ideas was built, where local health issues were addressed, taking as reference theoretical frameworks from the Social and Human Sciences. It is concluded that health research should be considered as an adequate tool to strengthen and evaluate the economic, social, historical and cultural determinants of health, thus enrich regional and national development plans. The Journal Cuadernos FHyCS-UNJu as an organ of dissemination and transfer of knwoledge has adequately contributedto this task.</text>

<text>This work intends to make a route through the different scientific articles that were published by Cuadernos Journal of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Ciences of the National University of Jujuy in its 25 years of existence, and which we consider are part of the field of communication. The aim of this paper is to identify different problems, theoretical postulates and methodologies that are presented throughout those years in a variety of productions, which have impacted the interior of the disciplinary field by providing a diversity of discussions. The methodology used was that of grouping the articles into axes by thematic linkage. Then We tried to present the fundamentals of each of these axes, with a specific reference to each work, in chronological order of publication. The four articulating axes of specific problems within the field of communication are: Media: discourses, consumption and mediations; Communication, representations, identities and popular culture; Communication and Semiotics; Openness and diversity of problems with multidisciplinary approaches. In this way, the article presents an itinerary that allows us to reflect the tensions and conflicts within each research proposal, which we consider to be a very remarkable aspect on the part of a scientific journal, whose purpose is, precisely, to be able to promote debates, exchanges and discussions in relation to the social sciences, in this case. This review also allows us to argue that the diversity of theoretical objects of communication is still a current aspect of the field, and its approach is nourished by interdisciplinary perspectives: anthropology, semiotics, psychology, etc.</text>

<text>In this paper we discuss the scopes and limitations of the ceramic analysis methodology developed by Karina Menacho through the characterization and comparison of two ceramic sets. The first one comes from Cruz Vinto, a pukara of the Late Regional Development Period (1200-1450 AD) in Northern Lípez, Bolivia; the second one comes from Casas Quemadas, an agricultural production site in Cusi Cusi, Argentina with occupations of the end of the Inka and Early Colonial Periods (1450-1660 AD). The material of Cruz Vinto comes from excavations of five enclosures interpreted as outdoor activity areas, while the ceramic set of Casas Quemadas comes from a domestic enclosure. We propose that to take full advantage of the methodology it is necessary to have a series of controls on the state of integrity and fragmentation of the sample; as well as the differences between the ethnographic contexts from which the functional categories are taken and the archaeological contexts where they are applied. We maintain that once these controls are considered, the methodology developed by Karina is a powerful tool for the appraisal of ceramic assemblies’ functionality and to relate them to the structure of the activities in the past.</text>

<text>In this contribution we present the results of a first study focused on the know-how of manufacturing techniques involved in the making of a stone pendant, recovered at Las Garzas site, in the Lerma Valley (Salta province). On a river pebble of metamorphosed phyllite from the Puncoviscana Formation, a zoomorphic, quadruped figure was carved. The representation follows the size and thickness of the blank. Such singularity in this small piece invited us to inquire about the possible procedures, operations and technical gestures involved in its manufacture. The analysis and registration of manufacturing traces, as well as those of use, was systematically carried out at the macroscopic and microscopic level. This study was complemented with elaboration of a replica in order to generate experimental analogies on some stage of the manufacturing sequence. This approach achieved through the manufacturing experimentation was important to confirm the traces of elaboration identified during the macroscopic and microscopic inspection of the original piece. Advances on the registration of the traces left by the “way of doing” of these particular objects, as well as knowing the possible ways of use, are indicators of the idiosyncrasies of the Lerma Valley sociocultural groups and allowed us to complement the information corpus available for this area.</text>

<text>The aim of this article is to carry out a mapping of inequality in an intermediate city: Neuquén, in the North-Patagonia, Argentina. We start from the hypothesis that the observation scale is not a neutral element in the problematic of this study, but rather determines the results that may be obtained. At the beginning, an area presented with some homogeneity then, it could show the roughness if the observation scales decreases. With this assumption as a guide, we propose a path that presents three clearly differentiated moments. First, we will describe the context which was the scenario of the phenomenon that we intend to explain. We will explore the social and spatial effects of the neoliberalization process. Second , we will approach the social division of the space of the city of Neuquén using the calculation of the quality of life index. Finally, we will thoroughly stop at a peripheral location settlement: Villa Ceferino, in the west of the capital city of Neuquén.</text>

<text>This paper addresses the spatial variability of daily practices from the archaeological analysis of a pottery assemblage recorded in the excavations of a first millennium AD  house cluster located in La Bolsa 1 (Tafí Valley, Tucumán). The studies try to solve three main questions: How could pottery assemblages be inferential traces of human practices? What are the formal, technological and functional characteristics of a ceramic assemblage recovered in domestic contexts of the first millennium? How do pottery vessels participate in the articulation of practices and the reproduction of social structures in the early villages? In order to answer these questions, we have applied the analytic tools designed by Karina Menacho (2001; 2007), from which we recover her functional classification of the pottery record, developed upon ethnographic and ethnoarcheological works.</text>

<text>In Chile today there is a crisis of legitimacy. The aforementioned is originated by the belief, on part of the institutionality, in the modernizing promise of the dictatorship, what finally generated an evaluation of the excessive management of Public Policies, over public ethos. This fact undoubtedly had an impact on the link between public institutions and civil society.  It is for this  reason our interest is to describe the decision-making process of the Competitiveness and Innovation Fund (FIC), of the Tarapacá region. In methodological terms, we apply a methodological design of interpretative nature, which allows us to specify and delimit the phenomenon. We also use  the semi - structured interview as information collection technique, analyzed through grounded theory. As main findings we obtained the identification of the core actors that influence the decision-making process of the governance of the Tarapacá region, and in turn, determine what administrative, political and cultural factors are the most predominant in this process.</text>

<text>This work arises from the need to cross two lines of independent research, with the objective of analyzing the influence of artificial deformation of the skull and the prevalence of metabolic-systemic and infectious pathologies in the individuals that inhabited the Puna de Jujuy, Argentina, during the Late Period (1000-1450 AD). The sample consists of 372 individuals represented by skulls and mandibles, without associated postcranial remains. The applied methodology consisted in the determination of sex, age estimation, and determination of type of artificial deformation of the skull and the measurement of 31 craniometrics variables (work made by second author MLF).The data were analyzed using univariate statistics. The indicators of metabolic-systemic stress (porotic hyperostosis [HP], cribra orbitalia [CO] and dental enamel hypoplasias [HED]) and infectious processes were evaluated on a subsample of 180 individuals ((work made by first author PMDZ); univariate statistics was used for the processing of the metric data. Results indicated the presence of different types of artificial deformation of the skull that manifested their effect on the morphology and would have determined a differential growth in the involved parts. A low frequency of indicators of metabolic-systemic stress and infections in the remains analyzed was revealed. These results allow us to state, on the one hand, that the development of puneños individuals would have occurred in a healthy environment in which they did not suffer situations of prolonged stress. On the other hand, although some authors have suggested that there would be a relationship between the presence of porotic hyperostosis and intentional cranial deformation, this was not detected in the sample analyzed.</text>

<text>The short film was an essential factor for the impulse and development of Argentine modern cinema between the fifties and the seventies. However, the history of the national cinema has not deepened in the specific features of the short film and marginalized it to the position of mere initiatory rite in the director’s career. In this sense, the proposal of the article is to review, on the one hand, different canonical perspectives on the national short film that focus on its formative function and on the other, different investigations about modern cinema where the short is not incorporated as a decisive link. Then, these papers will be confronted with a new point of view that effectively certifies the role of the short film in the process of modernization of Argentine cinema. It is built by four premises: the plurality of functions around the film of short duration, the structural characteristics of the short, the survival of the phenomenon in the period and the methodology of textual analysis.</text>

<text>Throughout the western and democratic world, the electoral cybercampaigns are increasingly frequent. The candidates establish the image they wish to project and transmit to the public (electorate) at the beginning of the campaign. This study presents and analyses the personal and political branding of Pedro Sánchez and Pablo Iglesias, candidates of the PSOE and PODEMOS parties respectively, in their webs for the election campaign 2015-16.Both candidates had the possibility of designing and projecting their personal and political image according to four of their trait variables: 1) biographical, 2) personal, 3) academic qualification, 4) ideological position, and 5) communication skills that constitute the strategic image that both candidates want to have. It is an analysis of intention, not perception. Therefore, this work presents an analytical description of the construct of their personal brand based on the discourse analysis on the mentioned variables. The study reveals the differences and similarities of their intentional presentation, with their personal and political brand. The results allow to reflect, interpret and compare their intentional and not perceptional personal and political brand. The conclusion shows that their political image opens an interesting question: is the projected image the one they wanted to offer?</text>

<text>The large number of socionatural disasters has become a relevant field of interest for social sciences, where studies of social vulnerability, population displacement, mitigation and risks stand out. The objective of this article was to address the various moments unleashed after the catastrophe of 1960, based on an ethnographic immersion process that gathered testimonies from four Lafkenche communities in the locality of Saavedra. The collected testimonies showed similarities with Hoffman’s (1999) cultural model of response to catastrophes, the is the reason why we focus in problematizing and characterizing the stages narrated post-catastrophes in this text, as well as the importance acquired by the relationship established between myth and rite for the Lafkenche of the Saavedra coast in their response of the tsunami (tripanlafken) and the earthquake (neyün).</text>

<text>At the beginning of nineteenth century Buenos Aires was characterized by having a consolidated musical scene, where more than forty Italian operas were represented. This article explores a fundamental aspect of the musical culture: the Italian female singers arrived in Buenos Aires. In particular, we focus on the reconstruction of Angela Tanni‘s and Julieta Anselmi’s trajectories. While the former had a strong presence in the Buenos Aires press for being the prima donna of the lyric company, the latter was known for a civil litigation in which she sought to disassociate herself from the singer who had brought her from Rio de Janeiro. This leads us, then, to make a differential approach, on the one hand to analyze Angela Tanni’s genre presentations done by the press during the 1820s; on the other hand to problematize the relations between the musical profession and genre present in a lengthy civil trial in which Carlota Anselmi was denounced for breach of her contract. Additionally, the porteña musical scene is briefly characterized as well as some distinctive features of the operas represented. Consequently, we propose that in the intersection between musical scene and the singers’ trajectories emerges a conceptualization of the femininity with agency. Likewise, these representation of femininity - and gender relationships - coincided with the plots of Rossini’s operas: women with the capacity to act on themselves and on the rest of the characters.</text>

<text>The work aims to contribute to the understanding of the transformations in the social relations in rural areas due to the creation of secondary schools in the countryside, driven by the extension of compulsory school in Argentina. For this purpose, an ongoing investigation carried out under the ethnographic approach in the department of La Paz, in the north of the province of Entre Ríos (Argentina). Studies contributions are considered that pointed out the conflicts between families and schools at different moments in history, as well as the importance of the local actors’ involvement in the development of education and school institution in rural environments. The argumentation is organized from the narrative of two episodes experienced in the secondary school of the colony, which points out conflicts related to the transformations of the teachers’ trajectories and generate new tensions with the families, and the disputes with the family and authorities for the decision-making. From the identification of young people’s and teachers’ unique practices and experiences , the work reaches to the conclusion that it is necessary to consider the heterogenous and elective appropriations of the compulsory school, considering to the differences and inequalities of the secondary school in a particular space and historical moment.</text>
