Crossed by a series of debates inherent in the social sciences, this field cannot be thought apart from another set of extrinsic debates of political discussions and historical and materials conditions of every moment of its tradition. This article reviews the context path, in which some milestones that explain the birth of Viator, an academic journal of communication from the edges, are identified. At first we address the different transformations and the institutionalization of the field of communication in Argentina and Jujuy. We focus on aspects related to the creation of the career of Social Communication, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (UNJu), in which intervened Anibal Ford, who, along with other thinkers of communication, defined its curriculum. Also we advance on the current state of affairs of the career. We present a series of new problems and perspectives of communication addressing the main productions of our career at the National University of Jujuy. Finally, it highlights the reasons why we developed Viator, a space for discussion and debate in the field of communication with the perspective of frontier.</text>

<text>The expansion of cable television networks in the province of Jujuy registers intense activity from its origins to the present. The income of operators and the dispute over the market in the most densely populated cities must be added to the increasing territorial coverage.

The aim of this paper is to demonstrate how such development consolidates a business model in the field of television by physical link and how these logics guide decisions of providers. In the transition between the old radio legal framework and Law 26.522, a series of business moves between cable operators with interests in the cities of San Pedro and Libertador General San Martin have generated. The Nortelevisa-Channel 2 firm will be analyzed as a particular case, which expanded its primary activity in the capital of Jujuy to a geographically strategic area because of its population density. Also we realize the incursion of a telephone cooperative into cable TV, which is unprecedented in our province, favored by the distribution of licenses in thirds between the commercial sector, the civil society and the State, predicted under the Audiovisual Communication Services Law.Finally we will characterize the corporate positioning strategies, describing their characteristics and some challenges that are product of metamorphosis that can be foreseen in the television system as a whole.</text>

<text>This paper analyzes retrospectively the decisions that the directors took on to hold and propose in 1992, after the creation of the Social Comunication ́s career which was built when the neoliberalism proclaims the reduction of the State and the University Education. The career plan is not theoretical, however it includes a solid basic training. It aims to train professionals to diagnose problems and to intervene in the search for solutions. The communication and the journalism have wide scope because they don ́t propose only to the mass media as the exclusive field for the activity of a communicator. It describes the challenges and the accomplishments of the Department of Communication Sciences: The organization of the IV National Conference of Researchers in Communication that took place in August 1999; the production of special events to present tributes to characters of popular culture in the province; the presentation and exchange of the activities of teaching, research and extension developed from our Faculty through the organization of the first JORPCOM (Congress of Journalism and Communication); the first edition of the electronics Magazine called "Confluence and Borders" in 2001.It stresses that it is an ongoing activity to create a relationship between the career, his teachers, students with the social actors who live in the city and in the province of Jujuy. Finally it references to the activity of research about the origins of the career.</text>
