<text>Oral poetry in Quechua has long been produced by authors who inhabit the territory of Peru. Today, we have the opportunity to study it thanks to an anthology prepared by Julio Noriega, who collected the poems and their translations or translated them himself. He thus presents them in a bilingual version, as indicated by the title of the anthology, Poesía quechua escrita en el Perú.
The corpus is heterogeneous in terms of the themes it addresses. However, there is a common element that marks these poems as a formation: the subject of poetic discourse constructs itself with the characteristics of the “migrant subject”, a concept coined by Antonio Cornejo Polar and later developed by Noriega himself.
This shared feature in all the poems has the peculiarity of reversing traditional modes of production. The problem is not resolved and reaches a dramatic dimension because of the asymmetry that exists between voice and writing.</text>

<text>For some time, the term "context" has constituted a problem in the social sciences for young researchers who use it. One possible reason is that the term forms part of the language of a certain intellectual and academic milieu, where it has found wide resonance and circulation. It therefore becomes necessary, in any scientific work, to clarify what kind of context is being referred to in each case.
Since this issue has been addressed by various scholars in different articles, this paper attempts to review the diverse concepts of context as they have been treated by the discipline of folklore since the term entered the theoretical scene. It offers a synthetic view of these contributions to the study of cultural phenomena of folkloric quality.
The paper agrees with the position of Relevance Theory, which supports the thesis that it is the utterance that constructs the context. This makes it possible to propose a way of recovering the meaning of narrative material, as well as of other kinds of material, and of the various contexts through verbal material produced in interview situations.</text>

<text>Murgas, one of the forms of carnival artists’ groups in the city of Buenos Aires, have multiplied over the last ten years, creating spaces for gathering, participation, and creative expression, especially among young people and adolescents. This phenomenon has brought about a reappraisal of practices and knowledge related to the “festive life of the people” and to the playful and aesthetic aspects of social interactions.
This paper seeks to account for the “small history” of a murga group formed almost seven years ago in a neighborhood in the southern part of the city, where I had the opportunity to carry out fieldwork. Through dancing to the rhythm of the bass drum with cymbal, humorous and critical songs, colorful costumes, and banners, the group creates and displays an image of itself constructed through references to its neighborhood of origin, local historical figures, and the porteño carnival tradition.
The trajectory followed by this murga group, in the process of its initial formation and consolidation as a group, allows it to be presented in relation to the broader development of this cultural expression in the urban sphere. To this end, the analysis draws on the methodological and conceptual tools of folklore studies, applying them to the understanding of this contemporary form of social and cultural expression.</text>

<text>The purpose of this paper is to reflect on the use of tradition in Argentine rock nacional as a resource for positioning oneself within current cultural relations. We consider the discursive productions and performances of the rock band La Renga in order to examine how relations between a meaningful past and the present are constructed. The appeal to the past operates in two directions: with respect to the history of rock nacional, on the one hand, and with respect to the history of the band, on the other.
Although disputes over what rock is have existed since the emergence of the phenomenon, they have intensified in a context marked by the expansion of the commercial apparatus of rock. Within this framework, resorting to the past constitutes a strategy for marking a distance from the culture industry.</text>

Based on the concept of “performance”, developed by the so-called New Perspectives in Folklore, the article suggests a possible way to overcome the tangible/intangible dichotomy that prevails in much of the literature on cultural heritage.
It also proposes a methodological tool for the recording, documentation, and analysis of cultural expressions that may potentially be subject to heritage-making processes.</text>

<text>New communication technologies, within a context of globalization, lead us to consider cultural heritage from new perspectives and to deepen the complexity of the problem. These dimensions should not be understood merely as a process of technologization but rather from economic, political, social, educational, and communicational perspectives, in which longstanding issues related to heritage are now viewed from a new angle.
On the one hand, there are problems such as the trafficking and trade of archaeological objects, reports made by e-mail, and commercialization through the Internet. On the other hand, there are also possibilities for displaying heritage through virtual museums, transforming its dissemination and its spaces of interaction with the public, and generating cultural changes.
These changes must be taken into account in order to appropriate media in ways that improve communication, allowing researchers, heritage, and cultural knowledge to reach a broad, mass, and heterogeneous public, as is made possible by the wide reach of this medium.
Without falling into the dichotomy of considering media as either good or bad, and with the awareness that everything depends on the intention behind their use, this paper points out several issues related to the use of media with respect to cultural heritage.</text>

<text>This article examines the archaeological impact assessment and mitigation work conducted during the construction of the Norandino Gas Pipeline in Jujuy Province between 1998 and 1999. The main objective was to prevent or reduce damage to archaeological heritage along an approximately 260 km route through intensive surveys, corrective measures, rescue operations, and continuous monitoring of ground-disturbing activities. The methodology combined field and laboratory work, including pedestrian survey of the pipeline corridor and associated facilities, recording of environmental and archaeological variables, classification of areas according to archaeological sensitivity, design of route alternatives, collection of surface materials, documentation of structures, and preparation of technical reports. Results included five archaeological route alternatives, fifteen minor route corrections, 35.10 km of modified alignment, the recovery of 20,869 lithic items and 1,026 ceramic fragments, and the documentation of archaeological sites, lithic workshops, agricultural structures, and sections of the Inca road network. The study emphasizes that the effectiveness of mitigation depended not only on professional archaeological judgment but also on coordination among companies, regulatory agencies, provincial authorities, auditors, and construction personnel. It concludes by recommending the involvement of archaeologists from the pre-project stage, stronger action by heritage authorities, and broader recognition of cultural resource management as a legitimate field of professional archaeological practice.</text>

Developed through simple and economical technology, and endowed with its own identity, it has been adopted by many cultures, each of which has imprinted upon it its particular mark. The Andean region is being displaced by new architectural forms that do not meet the technical or economic conditions required by the present moment and by the local context.
Many governmental and non-governmental organizations are devoted to the study of this architecture in order to introduce improvements and propose policies for its conservation and dissemination. It is important that urgent measures be taken to preserve it. Raising awareness in this regard is an imperative obligation.</text>

<text>This paper examines the archival holdings of Jujuy, both public and private, from its foundation to the present.
First, it refers to the historical fluctuations that led to the dispersion and/or disappearance of documentation from what is now the province of Jujuy, from early periods to the present day.
Second, it analyzes the legislation concerning the province’s public archives and the political tendencies expressed through it regarding the fate and importance of documentary sources.
It then considers the private archives existing in the province and the need for their cataloguing, which would enhance their value and make them accessible to researchers and the general public as valuable resources for approaching the history of Jujuy.
Finally, the paper offers some considerations on the importance assigned by the state and by society as a whole to documentary repositories, not only as heritage to be safeguarded but fundamentally as a “memory for the future”. These repositories are understood as invaluable resources for reconstructing our history—not a history forged by biased readings, but an approach to a reality that may contribute to the reformulation of our identity as a result of our past.</text>

<text>Taking into account that all sciences, as well as Western philosophy, must review their scientific assumptions and systems of study when dealing with Indigenous Law, since their conclusions become normative when they seek to apply law, Indigenous Peoples, for their part, situated within an eternal and cosmic energy, must also adjust their cultural guidelines to Western-rooted frameworks while preserving their own harmony in all collective activity, including human activity.
We also maintain that every center of attribution of Indigenous customary norms must be analyzed at least from the perspectives of territory, nation, people, law, biodiversity, and self-determination (Tlauitoltepec, Mexico, 1993).
On the other hand, considering modern international law and its evolution with respect to Indigenous Peoples, beginning with the Pátzcuaro commitment, in which anthropology and archaeology joined the effort to assert the rights of Indigenous Peoples, safeguard their cultures, and uphold their pre-existing rights, we conclude that there is a need for consensus.
Nevertheless, the rigorous treatment of the Law of Indigenous Peoples calls for an understanding of all social forces as a new necessity in the face of destruction, as well as for a new understanding of the terms used in matters of heritage. Indigenous communities must participate in decisions concerning the heritage of Indigenous Peoples.</text>

<text>This paper presents an assessment of the potential of the Quebrada de Humahuaca in relation to its rich natural and cultural heritage. This assessment focuses on the opportunities this heritage offers for protection, preservation, and revaluation, as well as for the implementation of comprehensive regional sustainable development programs.
To this end, several aspects of the region are taken into account and analyzed, including geomorphological, geographical, environmental, archaeological, historical, and anthropological features. These are considered together with an evaluation of different concepts relevant to the assessment process, particularly the notion of sustainability.
Finally, a proposal is presented for the specific case of the Quebrada de Humahuaca, emphasizing its long history of human occupation, which spans more than 10,000 years, and showing a close and changing relationship between human societies and a specific environment of remarkable natural beauty. This history of human occupation, including the present-day relationship between human societies and this particular environment, may be described as a “continuing cultural landscape” according to the UNESCO classification.</text>

As a result of this experience, we present the results obtained, which cover methodological and interpretive aspects of the archaeological record located and rescued during the works.
We consider that, at the professional level, we must address this need, which is oriented toward the management of archaeological heritage. To this end, we must make an effort to adapt theory, methodology, and technology to the solution of practical problems involved in Environmental Impact Assessment tasks throughout all their stages. This current situation requires the training of specialists capable of developing basic research together with the management of archaeological heritage.</text>

<text>This paper deals with ethnographic panpipes from the Central Andean region, grouped under the generic name of Sikus. The central problem is to determine whether they possess a defined musical structure, with the aim of understanding their functioning and avoiding the distortion of knowledge in pedagogical tasks.
The information comes from an experience carried out over a three-year period in Argentina, in the geographical area of the Puna, through interviews with musicians and comparative measurements of instruments. The analysis is mainly valid for these coordinates of time and space.
Nine types of instruments were considered in relation to the number of tubes, their tuning, and their register. These instruments were classified into three families.</text>

<text>When speaking of museums, we assume the definitions that have been in use from the beginning of the twentieth century to the present. According to these definitions, registration, conservation, research, and exhibition are accepted as the minimum and unavoidable tasks of museum practice.
However, the so-called informal education offered by this type of institution is scarcely, if at all, harmonized with the plans and programs of formal education. Even fewer examples can be cited of concern for younger segments of learners, that is, children at preschool and basic education levels. The same may be said of visitors who present some type or degree of disability, especially visual, auditory, or motor disabilities, among others. Today, experiences in this field that could guide us remain scarce and still at a preliminary stage.
For this purpose, an exhibition has been predesigned to synthesize the general museographic discourse within a reduced space. This has been proposed through the preparation of reproductions of archaeological museographic material, together with the design of ad hoc furniture and layout. This means that the exhibited “objects” —reproductions— and the supporting museographic materials will be able to be handled without major restrictions, making direct interaction between the public and the exhibits possible. Such interaction would otherwise be prohibited because of the risk of deterioration that frequent handling would pose to the original pieces.</text>

              <elementText elementTextId="23957">
