Esto deriv\u00f3 en diversas formas de tenencia y propiedad de la tierra en su territorio. La historiograf\u00eda existente ha analizado ampliamente este proceso, aunque a\u00fan no se ha centrado en una regi\u00f3n particular, los Valles Centrales, especialmente durante la segunda mitad del siglo XIX.
