TEMPUS FUGIT REPRESENTATIONOF THE PASSING OF TIME IN A IMAGE

El presente trabajo se inscribe en los estudios de Semiótica Visual, específicamente dentro de un enfoque macrosemiótico, por cuanto trata la imagen como un enunciado particular, sirviéndose de categorías lingüísticas para explicar el proceso de significación. Esta línea de estudios semióticos postula que la imagen significa y reconoce en el enunciado visual dos planos íntimamente relacionados: el de la expresión y el del contenido, sirviéndose de los aportes teóricos de J. A. Greimas para abordar su interpretación. Nuestro corpus de análisis está conformado por las tapas de dos ejemplares de la revista Luna, publicación periódica dirigida a la mujer. Una de las características formales de esta revista reside en que, mientras otras se limitan a mostrar modelos publicitarias -casi siempre muy reconocidas- que lucen vestidos y peinados a la moda, Luna capta la atención del enunciatario con el juego de forma y fondo que plasma en la imagen de cubierta. Los dos enunciados visuales que analizamos en estas páginas han sido producidos mediante la técnica del fotomontaje. Ambos significan, en esencia, lo mismo: el tiempo en su transcurrir, utilizando para ello el ícono del reloj de agujas. Este posee, sin embargo, distinta función y valor en cada imagen, lo que hace que la lectura de cada una de ellas deba abordarse de diferente modo. A partir del análisis, observamos que cada imagen, por medio de diversos recursos, propone una lectura diferente del espacio visual.

The present work registers in the studies of Visual Semiótica, specifically within a macrosemiótico approach, inasmuch as it treats the image like a particular statement, using as lingüísticas categories to explain the meaning process. This line of semióticos studies postulates that the image means and recognizes in the visual statement two intimately related planes: the one of the expression and the one of the content, using as the theoretical contributions of J.A. Greimas to approach its interpretation.Ours corpus of analysis is conformed by the covers of two units of the magazine Moon, periodic publication directed to the woman. One of the formal characteristics of this magazine resides in which, while others are limited to show advertising models - very recognized almost always that shine dresses and hairdos in fashion, Moon catches the attention of the enunciatario with the form game and bottom that it shapes in the cover image.Both visual statements that we analyzed in these pages have been produced by means of the technique of the fotomontaje. Both mean, in essence, the same: the time in his to pass, using for it ícono of the clock of needles. This it has, nevertheless, different function and value in each image, which does that the reading of each one of them must be approached of different way.From the analysis, we observed that each image, by means of diverse resources, proposes a reading different from the visual space.
