LANDSCAPE AND BIOTA OF THE HIGHLANDS OF JUJUY (NW ARGENTINA): - 100 years after The Swedish Scientific Expedition -

Se realiza una descripción suscinta de los biomas regionales presentes en las tierras altas circumtropicales del NO argentino extremo; territorio donde los expedicionarios suecos encabezados por Erland Nordenskiöld recogieron (1901-1902) variada información científica.El propósito principal de este trabajo es comunicar una actualización de las descripciones realizadas para la biota regional en el libro de Eric von Rosen (publicado en sueco hacia 1916; en español -como “Un Mundo que se va”- en 1957).La bibliografía adjunta incluye una nómina de obras más recientes acerca de la temática tratada.

A brief description is made of regional biomes present in the circumptropical highlands of the extreme NW of Argentina. In this area, swedish scientists leaded by Erland Nordenskiöld obtained (1901-1902) diverse information.Main purpose of this paper is to communicate an updated version of descriptions used for regional biota (plants and animals) in the book by Eric von Rosen, published in 1916. Bibliography lists works which allow to acquire an actualized picture of treated thematic.
