TECHNOLOGIES AND POWER PRACTICES: AGRARIAN LANDSCAPES OF THE SOUTH ANDEAN HIGH PLATEAU SOCIETIES. THE CASE OF VILLA CANDELARIA, NOR LIPEZ, BOLIVIA

Proponemos en este trabajo ejercitar una interpretación de los paisajes agrarios como espacios de poder desde la concepción de la tecnología como un proceso de inscripción de prácticas sociales temporal, espacial e históricamente específicas.Tras realizar una revisión sobre cómo los arqueólogos han explicado la relación entre poder y tecnologías agrarias al estudiar las sociedades altiplánicas del noroeste argentino, aportaremos un caso de estudio donde ensayaremos nuestro enfoque con el objeto de contribuir a esclarecer la dinámica sociopolítica y la lógica reproductiva de las sociedades surandinas, tomando como referencia la fase fi nal del período de Desarrollos Regionales (1200-1450 DC).

Here we propose an interpretive exercise that take agrarian landscapes as power spaces from the conception of technology as social practices specifi c to a time, space and historical context.After reviewing how archaeologists explain the relationship between agrarian technologies and power in the argentine north western high plateau societies, we will propose a study case in order to enlighten the sociopolitical dynamics and the reproductive logic of the southern Andean societies, taking as reference the fi nal phase of the Regional Development period (1200-1450 AD).
