In this paper, we analyze the impact of the recreation of carnival folklore in the city of Buenos Aires, when new agents—the State, the market, and popular artists—traditionalized folk practices by contextualizing them in the present.
The old carnival groups of Buenos Aires, known as murgas or centro-murgas, thus saw their organizational and expressive conditions transformed.
The inclusion of carnival groups and festivities in the agenda of cultural policies modified, over the last twenty years, the previous conditions of production and reproduction. This reconfigured the social space in which the social agents involved confront their knowledge and their carnival projects.

En este artículo analizamos el impacto de la recreación del folklore carnavalesco en la ciudad de Buenos Aires, cuando nuevos agentes (el estado, el mercado, artistas populares) tradicionalizaron prácticas folklóricas, contextualizándolas al momento presente.
Las antiguas agrupaciones del carnaval de Buenos Aires, denominadas murgas o centro-murgas, vieron entonces transformadas sus condiciones organizativas y expresivas.
La inclusión de las agrupaciones y festejos carnavalescos en la agenda de las políticas culturales modificó en los últimos 20 años las condiciones de producción y reproducción anteriores. Esto reconfiguró el espacio social donde los agentes sociales involucrados confrontan sus saberes y sus proyectos de carnaval.
