Legislation on the Protection and Conservation of Cultural Heritage in the Province of Jujuy

Legislación sobre protección y conservación del patrimonio cultural de la provincia de Jujuy

The province of Jujuy must have a law for the protection and conservation of cultural heritage. There are several isolated bills and sectoral and/or partial laws concerning specific cultural aspects, such as Law 5122 on the preservation, promotion, and development of Jujuy handicrafts, Law 3866, and municipal ordinances. Unfortunately, however, none of them have been regulated by the corresponding Executive Branch, which makes their full enforcement impossible. In any case, knowledge of these laws is a fundamental step toward achieving the objectives they pursue.

La provincia de Jujuy debe tener una Ley de Protección y Conservación de Patrimonio Cultural. Hay proyectos aislados y legislación sectorial y/o parcial sobre determinados aspectos culturales, como la Ley 5122 de Preservación, Promoción y Desarrollo de las Artesanías Jujeñas, o la Ley 3866, u ordenanzas municipales, pero todas, lamentablemente, no están reglamentadas por los Poderes Ejecutivos respectivos, lo que hace imposible su completo cumplimiento. De todos modos, su conocimiento es un paso fundamental para conseguir los objetivos por ellas perseguidos.
