The Merchants of Salta Through the Commercial Court During the Nineteenth Century

Los comerciantes de Salta a través del Tribunal Mercantil durante el siglo XIX

This paper seeks to establish some guidelines for approaching the study of important merchants. In this case, the analysis focuses on the conduct of certain members of this sector in the Mercantile Court during the nineteenth century. To this end, their participation in this institution was taken into account, as well as their involvement in the Executive and Legislative branches and in commercial societies.
On this basis, the paper proposes some guidelines concerning the relationships that this sector maintained with institutions of power and among its own members.

El trabajo pretende establecer algunas pautas para abordar el estudio de importantes comerciantes. En esta oportunidad se privilegió el análisis de la conducta de algunos miembros de este sector en el Tribunal Mercantil durante el siglo XIX; para ello se tuvo en cuenta su participación en este organismo, como así también en el Poder Ejecutivo y Legislativo, o bien en Sociedades Comerciales. Desde allí planteamos algunas pautas sobre las relaciones que este sector mantuvo con las instituciones de poder y entre ellos mismos.
