CAMINO A LAS YUNGAS. EL SUR DE LA QUEBRADA DE HUMAHUACA. UN ESPACIO DIFERENTE

ROAD TO "LAS YUNGAS". SOUTHERN HUMAHUACA GULCH. A DIFFERENT SPACE

Se discuten algunas evidencias que permiten plantear al sector meridional de la Quebrada de Humahuaca como un paisaje arqueológico diferente. Las hipótesis se basan en el análisis de factores ambientales y de registros arqueológicos del Pukara de Volcán y de sitios ubicados en el borde oriental (Yungas). Como aproximaciones interpretativas, estas diferencias con los sectores centro y sur de la Quebrada de Humahuaca pueden explicarse considerando la participación de las sociedades meridionales en otras esferas de interacción y en la importancia de la producción y explotación de los recursos de yungas.

Some evidences which let assume that the southern section of the Quebrada de Humahuaca is a different archaeological landscape are discussed. Hipotheses are based on the analysis of environment factors and archaeological records from the Pukara of Volcán and sites situated in the eastern border (Yungas). As interpretativo approaches these differences with the central and northern sections ofthe Quebrada de Humahuaca may be explained considering the participation ofthe southern societies in other interaction spheres and the importance in the production and exploitation of yungas resources.
