Older Adults in Jujuy: Vicissitudes and Social Impact of Population Aging

El adulto mayor en Jujuy: avatares e impacto social del envejecimiento poblacional

This article presents a synthesis of the progress made in the research project “The Elderly in Jujuy: Vicissitudes and Social Impact of Population Aging and Its Conditions of Production”, accredited by the Secretariat of Science and Technology and Regional Studies of the National University of Jujuy, under code 08/C179. The project is carried out within the Social Work Research Unit of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences.
The general objective of this project is to achieve a qualitative-quantitative diagnosis of the situation of the elderly in the province of Jujuy, through the application of a convergent research model. Through its results, the project seeks to transfer knowledge and contribute to the definition of public policies and to the strengthening of programs and projects aimed at this population sector.

El presente artículo constituye una síntesis de los avances del Proyecto de Investigación, «El Adulto Mayor en Jujuy: Avatares e Impacto Social del Envejecimiento Poblacional y de sus condiciones de Producción», acreditado en la Secretaría de Ciencia y Técnica y Estudios Regionales de la Universidad Nacional de Jujuy (Código 08/C179) y que se ejecuta en la Unidad de Investigación en Trabajo Social de la Facultad de Humanidades y Ciencias Sociales. Dicho Proyecto, posee como objetivo general, lograr un diagnóstico cuali-cuantitativo del estado de situación del Adulto Mayor en la Provincia de Jujuy, mediante la aplicación de un modelo investigativo convergente que posibilite a través de sus resultados, la transferencia y aporte a la definición de políticas públicas y al fortalecimiento de programas y proyectos dirigidos a este sector poblacional.
