This paper presents the research results of the Pozuelos Scientific Station Project, a prototype building under construction in the high plateau of Northwestern Argentina. The main objective of the project is to develop new technological alternatives for the area and the region, based on the use of raw-earth technology. Funded by CONICET and supported by the universities of Jujuy and Tucumán and the municipality of Cieneguillas, the project has completed two stages: the participatory design and construction of half of the Station, and the training of local human resources.
A new design method is used, one that facilitates the participation of the local population both in the project design and during construction. Several technology-transfer activities are being carried out in the area, and different opinions have emerged regarding the effectiveness of the new construction technology.

Este trabajo presenta los resultados de investigación del Proyecto Estación Científica Pozuelos, edificio-prototipo en construcción en el altiplano del noroeste de Argentina. El objetivo principal del proyecto es el de desarrollar alternativas tecnológicas nuevas para la zona y la región, basadas en el uso de la tecnología de tierra cruda. Financiado por el CONICET y con la ayuda de las universidades de Jujuy y Tucumán, y el municipio de Cieneguillas, el proyecto cumplió dos etapas: el diseño y construcción participativos de la mitad de la Estación, y la capacitación y formación de recursos humanos locales.
Se utiliza un método de diseño nuevo, que facilita la participación de la población local tanto para proyectar como durante la construcción. Hay algunas actividades de transferencia en la zona y distintas opiniones sobre la eficacia de la nueva tecnología de construcción.
