Individual, Knowledge, and Society: Piaget’s Genetic Psychology of Intelligence and the Intercultural Perspective

Individuo, conocimiento y sociedad: la psicología genética de la inteligencia de Piaget y la perspectiva intercultural

This paper brings together a series of reflections on Piaget’s psychogenetic theory and the intercultural perspective.
In order to achieve the proposed objective and contextualize the topic, a brief overview is offered of the stages of intellectual development proposed by Piaget. From there, the paper goes on to examine the role played in the theory by the influence of the social factor, particularly with regard to educational and cultural transmission, and then addresses the perspective of intercultural research.
On the other hand, the analysis seeks to highlight the scope and limitations of comparative research in genetic psychology, as well as the methodological problems faced by intercultural cognitive research.

El trabajo reúne un conjunto de reflexiones sobre la Teoría Psicogenética de Piaget y la perspectiva intercultural.
Para cumplir con el objetivo planteado y contextualizar el tema, se realiza una breve reseña de las etapas del desarrollo intelectual que propone Piaget. De allí se pasa a observar el papel que en la teoría juega la influencia del factor social, fundamentalmente, referido a la transmisión educativa y cultural, para desde allí abordar la perspectiva de la investigación intercultural.
Por otra parte, el análisis pretende destacar los alcances y limitaciones de las investigaciones comparadas en psicología genética, como así también los problemas metodológicos con los que se enfrentan las investigaciones cognitivas interculturales.
