The Concept of Health in School Curriculum Content: The Proposal of the Province of Jujuy for the First Level of Education

El concepto de salud en los contenidos escolares: la propuesta de la provincia de Jujuy para el primer nivel educativo

The hegemony of a particular model for representing health and illness is achieved, to a certain extent, through the work carried out in this regard by the educational system. The inclusion of health education content in the explicit school curriculum, together with the reproduction of practices and the internalization of values through what has come to be called the hidden curriculum, ensures that the school becomes an effective means of generating acceptance and perpetuating a particular way of understanding health.
For this reason, in the present paper I propose to analyze the official documents that currently regulate teaching in primary school, a compulsory and almost universalized level of schooling.

La hegemonía de un modelo de representación de la salud y de la enfermedad se logra, en cierta medida, por el trabajo que, a ese respecto, realiza el sistema educativo. La inclusión de contenidos de educación para la salud en el currículum escolar explícito y la reproducción de prácticas e internalización de valores a través de lo que se ha dado en llamar currículum oculto aseguran que la escuela sea un eficaz medio de generar aceptación y perpetuar una determinada forma de comprensión de la salud. Por ello, en el presente trabajo me propongo analizar los documentos oficiales que norman, actualmente, la enseñanza en la escuela primaria, nivel obligatorio y casi universalizado de escolaridad.
